How EFSI benefits SMEs in Europe - Sowalfin case study: Sapristic (Belgium), Environmental monitoring systems

As a young and dynamic company, Sapristic has specialised in two areas of expertise: management software & technologies and services for Life Sciences companies, including an environmental monitoring system for the clean room. Helene Martin, Marketing Manager at Sapristic, explains that: “We have developed two high-tech activities: BiiON, a company which brings 20 years of experience in technologies and services for the Life Sciences sector, and a Systems, Applications and Products (SAP) team also backed by 20 years of experience in management software.”

With the launch of ‘Mirrhia’, Sapristic’s affiliated company BiiON has brought to the market a new generation of environmental monitoring systems for the pharmaceutical industry. Thanks to this new system, the company’s growth is continuing on an upward trajectory. Helene reports: “The company has done extremely well last year, and we expect this year to be the same.”

To continue to support this growth, Sapristic has secured an EU-guaranteed loan through Sowalfin, the Walloon regional guarantee institution providing guarantees for loans to small and medium-sized enterprises, and backed by EIF under the Investment Plan for Europe.

This EU initiative, which aims to generate new investments by facilitating access to finance for small businesses, has allowed Sapristic to create over 15 positions, which will bring the total amount of people employed by the company to over 100.
