G43 - Anatolian Venture Capital Fund Project - A co-investment structure with iVCi

The G43 Anatolian Venture Capital Fund (G43) is a joint initiative between the EIF -  acting as trustee for the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA) funds allocated to Regional Competitiveness Operational Programme which is supported by EU and Republic of Turkey - the Istanbul Venture Capital Initiative (iVCi). The Contracting Authority of G43 is the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology, DG for EU and Foreign Relations, IPA-PO, and final beneficiary is the SME Development Organisation of Turkey (KOSGEB).

Turkey’s first fund of funds programme advised by the EIF, Turkish Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology and the SME Development Organisation of Turkey (KOSGEB). G43 is the first regional equity fund focusing on the less developed/developing regions of Turkey and will benefit SMEs in enhancing their access to finance.

The fund is supported to a great extent by IPA, co-financed by the European Union and the Republic of Turkey and iVCi, jointly committing EUR 16 million to G43. This initiative is the second project launched by the EIF with the support from IPA funds, following the launch of GAGF.

The Abraaj Group was selected by EIF as a fund manager for G43 in October 2013.
