STAXON aims to make an impact in how business is conducted through a new solution for remote visual communication. Robert Meleady founded the company when he designed a software solution to make paid video consultations available through a functional and secure platform.
“It can be described as a video-conference platform with integrated scheduling and paying features”, explains Robert, “it enables people to get paid immediately for sharing their skills and expertise regardless of their location, and guarantees secure and easy payments.”
Robert initially relied on his own resources to develop his business idea, but in order to take the company to the next stage he needed financial support. To that end, he sought a microloan from Erste Bank, guaranteed by EIF under the EU’s Employment and Social Innovation programme. The financing allowed Robert to start-up the company, launching the software platform and taking the product to the market, as well as hiring a new colleague and investing in marketing.
Headquartered in Vienna, STAXON has a broad range of customers, including doctors, lawyers, business consultants, language tutors and music teachers, and is aiming to offer additional integrated tools specially designed for each sector in the very near future. After opening a STAXON account, professionals and businesses can easily incorporate its “video call me” button through their websites or social media channels.
With business going well, the company is exploring new ways to expand and improve the software with additional functionality being developed in the medium term and researching the possibility of integrating with immersive technologies over the longer-term.
