Founded by passionate software developers in search of a challenge, dryTools is a Serbian company that set out to change the industry through their innovative approach to coding, leaving programmers free to focus on the creative part.
“Basically, we build software that builds software. A lot of people think that software development work is 100% creativity, but actually 80% of that work is really repetitive”, explains co-founder Marko Gacesa, “We wanted to turn that around”.
This software reduces the chance of human error, and frees up time for developers to utilize their expertise in the most productive way. “The whole team of dryTools was attracted by the challenge of making this happen, because there is always a possibility that we would not be able to crack it fully”, Marko says, “but we did, and that’s great.”
In order to finance the business, the company secured investment from South Central Ventures, with support from EIF. “When we were starting off with dryTools, the idea, getting financing was more or less ‘mission impossible’. We needed the investment to develop the product further”, explains Marko, “EU-supported financing helped us focus on product development, scaling our team, and starting business development initiatives all over the world”.
The company used the dryTools technology to take the idea to new horizons, creating a company –Alchemy – that currently offers digital solutions for the global chemical industry. “I was in San Francisco, pitching dryTools. I met experienced business development teams, and we saw a big opportunity of starting to work together”, Marko explains. “We used a dryTools tool to actually build another company, to build Alchemy”, adds Dusko Vesin, co-founder, “I’m really proud of what we achieved so far, with the team in Serbia and our local environment”.
