Our policy document sets out the EIF’s implementation framework on transparency. We consider that being transparent about how we make decisions, work and implement EU policies is an important part of strengthening the EIF’s credibility and accountability to the public – in particular, considering our dual character as a financial and a public institution.
Transparency also contributes to greater efficiency, effectiveness and sustainability in the EIF’s operations, reinforcing its zero-tolerance approach on fraud and corruption, ensuring adherence to environmental and social standards linked to financed activities, and promoting accountability and good governance.
The EIF’s transparency policy further adheres to the EIB Group Transparency Policy framework applicable to the EIB Group as a whole – whereby for its subsequent parts, both EIB and EIF have their own implementation framework taking into account the specific business and governance context of each respective institution.
Outlining the EIF’s policy on transparency, including background and purpose, guiding principles, institutional framework, principles for publication of information and disclosure, provisions for complaints and appeals, and other implementation aspects (stakeholder engagement, promotion, and responsibilities).
