EIF opent Benelux-vertegenwoordiging in EIB Groep kantoor Amsterdam

• Het Europees Investeringsfonds (EIF) opent in Amsterdam een vertegenwoordiging voor de Benelux, als deel van de nieuwe EIF-strategie om dichter bij de markten te staan.
• De vertegenwoordiging, die onder leiding van Peter Coveliers komt, werd aangekondigd bij de tiende verjaardag van het EIB Groep kantoor in Amsterdam, waar ze kantoor zal houden.

Tijdens de viering van het tweede lustrum van het EIB Groep kantoor in Amsterdam kondigde het Europees Investeringsfonds (EIF) aan aldaar een nieuwe vertegenwoordiging voor de Benelux te openen. Met deze vaste lokale aanwezigheid, een onderdeel van de nieuwe strategie van het EIF, versterkt de Europese instelling haar positie ten opzichte van de lokale markten. Hiermee wordt het lokale ondernemers en intermediairs duidelijker wat de mogelijkheden van EIF zijn, en wordt de toegang tot financiering vergemakkelijkt. De vertegenwoordiging, die onder leiding zal staan van EIF-veteraan Peter Coveliers, mikt erop de voetafdruk van het EIF in Nederland groter te maken door het opbouwen van een nauwere samenwerking met de publieke en de privésector.

De deputy Chief Executive van het EIF, Roger Havenith, stelde: “Het EIF heeft als missie om het MKB in heel Europa te steunen waar het maar kan. Om dat zo goed mogelijk te doen, moeten we dicht bij de markt zitten. De opening van het Benelux-kantoorin Amsterdam is een logische volgende stap om onze intermediairs, zoals lokale banken en de lokale VC sector, en daarmee uiteindelijk dus het MKB, nóg beter van dienst te zijn.”

Het EIF was de afgelopen jaren steeds actiever in Nederland, waar het inmiddels €5,6 miljard aan financiering beschikbaar gemaakt heeft via 164 lokale intermediairs. Daarmee werd naar schatting zo’n €29 miljard aan investeringen in de Nederlandse economie aangejaagd, waarmee meer dan 35.000 lokale bedrijven gesteund werden. EIF opens Benelux representation in EIB Group Amsterdam office

• The European Investment Fund (EIF) is opening a representative office for the Benelux in Amsterdam, as part of EIF's new strategy to be closer to the markets.
• The representation, which will be led by Peter Coveliers, was announced on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the EIB Group office in Amsterdam, where it will have its office.

During the celebration of the tenth anniversary of the EIB Group office in Amsterdam, the European Investment Fund (EIF) announced the opening of a new representative office for the Benelux. With this permanent local presence, part of the EIF's new strategy, the European institution is strengthening its position in relation to local markets. This will make local entrepreneurs and intermediaries more aware of EIF's capabilities and facilitate access to financing. The representation, which will be headed by EIF senior Peter Coveliers, aims to increase EIF's footprint in the Netherlands by building closer cooperation with the public and private sectors.

EIF Deputy Chief Executive Roger Havenith stated, "The EIF's mission is to support SMEs across Europe wherever it can. To do that in the best possible way, we need to be close to the market. The opening of the Benelux office in Amsterdam is a logical next step to serve our intermediaries, such as local banks and the local VC sector, and thus ultimately SMEs, even better."

The EIF has been increasingly active in the Netherlands in recent years, where it has now made €5.6 billion of funding available through 164 local intermediaries. This is estimated to have driven some €29 billion of investment in the Dutch economy, supporting more than 35,000 local businesses.
