SME Finance Forum Dublin 2013

On invitation of Commissioner Antonio Tajani and the Irish Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Mr Richard Bruton, EIF Chief executive, Richard Pelly and EIB Vice President Dario Scannapieco participated to the SME Finance Forum which was set up to monitor the market situation and to explore new ideas to improve access to finance for SMEs.

During the high-level conference, the achievements of the EU Action Plan to improve access to finance for SMEs were reviewed and ideas and priorities for the next EU multiannual financial framework were presented. A particular focus was put on the EU financial instruments under COSME and Horizon 2020 but also alternative sources of finance as well as microfinance were discussed. On occasion of the conference, the EIF has issued a joint report with the EC and the EIB on access to finance for SMEs.
