On February 19th, 2013 the EIF and Banca di Credito Cooperativo (BCC) Emil Banca - a small Italian cooperative bank mamber of the nationwide ICCREA network - signed a EUR 2 m Progress Microfinance agreement aimed at supporting micro-enterprises and self-employed entrepreneurs in the Emilia Romagna Region, particularly in the provinces of Bologna, Modena and Ferrara, which were damaged by the earthquake in May 2012.
The event took place in Bologna at the headquarters of Emil Banca at the presence of its President, Giulio Magagni and EIF representative Riccardo Aguglia, Senior Investment Manager. The ceremony was also attended by numerous local stakeholders, including media representatives.
